Joyce Young OBE

Designer

Joyce graduated from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art before embarking on a career in the fashion industry. At the age of 22 she set up a company Sequin along with a fellow graduate designing contemporary occasionwear with hand painting and applique. The collection was bought by luxury stores in the UK and Middle East.

After a career break to start a family she returned to industry where she had spent the first year post Art College designing for M&S. After gaining invaluable business experience Joyce launched By Storm in 1993 and now has stores in Glasgow and London and a purpose built manufacturing unit beside the Glasgow studio.

Joyce’s gift for colour, fabric, style and detail gives the outfits she creates a very distinctive look that is instantly recognizable as a “Joyce Young” design. Backed by a loyal and talented team of experts in styling, pattern cutting, sewing and fitting, together her team never underestimate the privilege of working with clients at one of the happiest and most important times of their lives.Together they will create the dress of your dreams.
