Designer Joyce Young OBE launched her company By Storm in 1993 having been in the fashion industry since graduating from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in 1975.

Joyce is married to Maurice and together they are passionate about the wedding business that they have built over the past 30 years. Her two children are now grown up and her daughter Susie got married a few years ago so Joyce feels even greater empathy with her brides and mothers than ever before having had the excitement of organising her own daughter’s wedding. Joyce loves weddings and sees it as a real privilege to be involved with brides and mothers at such a happy time in their lives.

“We never take for granted how lucky we are to be chosen to create the most important dress in a girl’s life. By the time our clients leave us we feel we have become friends and share in all the excitement of the run-up to the big day. We love receiving the photographs and feedback after the wedding – it makes us feel very much part of the day.”
