Weather: Very wet indeed!

“I knew from the start I wanted a dress with a lot of tartan! I was always a very patriotic girl and loved everything Scottish and tartan! When it came to shopping for the dress I did several hours of internet research on where to buy tartan dresses, there was only one that really caught my eye…By Storm by Joyce Young. It was the first and only appointment I made. When entering The Cottage store the lovely Florence started talking me through the beautiful lace and silk gowns….but I only had eyes for the tartan range on the top floor, the Stacy dress was the third dress I had on and I knew instantly it was for me! The dress was then made over a series of fittings in the workshop – every time we went my mum and I got so excited at seeing the dress come together, we would then always go and celebrate with some lunch and fizz! It was a great excuse for girly days!

The reaction to the dress was quite unbelievable with almost all the guests commenting on how they had never seen a tartan dress before and how absolutely stunning the silk fabric and colours were! One of the points many guests made was that the dress was actually so plain and classic from the front but so edgy, unusual and eye catching from the back. I loved wearing it and receiving these compliments.

It was all such a fantastic experience and I can’t thank Joyce and her team enough for the care and attention they took over making my dream dress. Be bold, be patriotic and wear the beautiful fabric that is synonymous with our country with pride – I know I did!”
