Meet Joyce who received her OBE title last year from the royal family for her contribution to the British fashion industry. With decades of experience catering for brides, their bridesmaids, the mother of the bride/groom and flowergirls and having designed for ladies with unrivalled fashion style like Michelle Obama, Judy Murray, Hilary Clinton, Joyce is continuing to meet her brides with love and enthusiasm and her aesthetic is beyond question: timeless elegance.
Dreaming of finding a heartwarmingly dedicated professional to design your perfect wedding gown? Recently Joyce spoke with the team of the Scottish Wedding Directory about her work approach: ‘I don’t really have a favourite dress. I keep changing my mind when I see different girls in them. It’s amazing what suits one bride doesn’t suit the next one at all. When a bride chooses to have a bespoke dress made it’s such a pleasure and honour to sit down with her and design an individual dress which will probably be the most important dress she will ever wear.’

What Joyce shares about her inspiration and design process:
‘I always start with the fabric. I look through hundreds of laces and silks and only a few will jump out and ‘speak’ to me. I choose the trimmings and fabrics and then sketch out the designs.
I would describe my signature style as simple and elegant. I take a lot of inspiration from the romantic styles of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn: two classic beauties. I think that this idea of timelessness translates well into a wedding dress. You want your gown to stand the test of time, so make it classic with a twist if you want to add your own stamp on it. Elegance never goes out of fashion.’
