Here is the first of our fairytale wedding 60 second video series showcasing some of our lovely Couture brides.
Katie and James were lucky to have chosen 2019 for their fairytale wedding in the New Forest . Today during lockdown she is tutoring 300 young ballet students online from her living room ! Here we show the Couture process from sketch to dance floor.
Katie lives in Belsize Park and runs a ballet school in Primrose Hill. At her first appointment she tried on various styles and looked at fabrics. It didn’t take long to listen to all her preferences and sketch a design that incorporated everything she wanted in her dream wedding dress.
The first toile was made which is a mock up of the final style. There was a change to the original neckline to a more plunging inner bodice under the lace. The dress came to life over a series of fittings and was made in our London design room which is in the basement of the showroom. We have Kolin who cuts patterns and does fittings and a full time machinist in London as well as our production unit in Glasgow .
The fabric Katie chose is a softly draping crepe which has a good weight and the most delicate French lace for the bodice and sleeves . The long crepe train was topped by a stunning detachable organza lace trimmed train which buttoned on above the waist at the back.
The wedding took place in the idyllic surroundings of the New Forest and Katie looked absolutely stunning. We also made a bespoke outfit in blush silk for her lovely Mum.
The beautiful wedding photographs are by London photographer Anna Fowler .
