2022 has been a busy year at Joyce Young Design Studios and we are so grateful for the custom and support of all our wonderful clients . As we bid farewell to a year which saw the return of ‘normal’, we invite you to look back with us to a few of our favourite memories of the year. Although difficult to narrow down, here are some highlights.

The Scottish Wedding Show
To kick off the new year, we saw the return of the Scottish Wedding Show for the first time since 2020. To celebrate, we designed all new bridal and mother of the bride collections which made their debut on the SEC’s runway. Our mothers sashayed elegantly down the runway in jewel shades of royal blue, jade, and spring green whilst our brides beautifully modelled contemporary shapes and styles. Read More.February

Welcome Freda Bennet
Our London and Glasgow stores proudly became stockists of award winning, British designer, Freda Bennet. With beautifully feminine and elegant wedding gowns, Freda Bennet strikes a unique balance between timeless and trendy, complementing Joyce Young's design aesthetic. Shop the collection.

From Runway to Red Carpet
Tanya Seghatchian, producer of critically acclaimed ‘The Power of the Dog’, accepted the Esteemed Cinematic Imagery Award from the Art Directors Guild on behalf of Oscar winning filmmaker, Jane Campion. Tanya looked fabulous alongside presenter Benedict Cumberbatch in her black jacquard dress, designed and made by Joyce Young. April

Say Cheese!
An official photoshoot took place for our 2022/23 mother of the bride collection. This collection is made up of contemporary and classic styles to suit all shapes and sizes, from plus size to petite. Summer!
Our London window display underwent a super sweet makeover to mark the beginning of Summer. With bright pastel colours and ice cream cones in hand, no detail was spared.

And the Winner is...
Randomly chosen from a list of survey participants, our client Carol won a free Casual Chic dress. With her daughter's wedding coming up, Carol was delighted to redeem this prize as her mother of the bride outfit.

Anyone for Tennis?
Judy Murray attended the Wimbledon 2022 championships wearing a pleated dress and silk cape from our Summer Casual Chic collection. Seated centre court in the exclusive Royal Box, Judy Murray looked incredible in those bright jewel colours.

Joyce Young, Real Life Mother of the Groom
Held over the sunniest weekend of the year, at Lochgreen House Hotel & Spa, Joyce’s son Ian married the love of his life, Katie. The whole wedding party experienced a day of joy and love, wearing of course none other than.... Joyce Young Couture.
Ian and the groomsmen chose to wear Arran mist highlandwear from Macgregor and Macduff, bridesmaids dresses were chosen in blue, beautifully complementing the tartan.
Katie's mother, Lindsey, looked fabulous in a forties style button front satin dress, paired with a teardrop hat. Joyce chose to continue the theme of blue in simple and elegant palazzo pants and an ombre silk chiffon tunic.
All eyes were on bride Katie, who looked flawless in our couture Chloe wedding gown. This stunning bridal look included a hand beaded bodice, circular satin skirt and long flowing train. Read more.

The Velvet Collection
As Summer came to an end we welcomed back cosy Autumnal trends with open arms. Just like that, the velvet collection was born. With six luxurious jewel tone shades available, these velvet day dresses quickly became a popular addition to A/W Casual Chic.

The Scottish Wedding Show
With the second Scottish Wedding Show of the year taking place at Glasgow’s SEC, we showcased our new seasonally themed bridal and mother of the bride collections. While it’s not uncommon for our designs to appear on the catwalk hot off the sewing machines, our talented and hardworking in-house production team are pro’s when it comes to meeting deadlines. Sarah Haran Collab
To celebrate the release of the velvet collection and new Casual Chic A/W styles we held events in our Glasgow and London stores. First up our Glasgow event was held in collaboration with Sarah Haran. With an open invitation, clients attended our showroom and mingled with our models who strutted elegantly around the store in our new A/W styles. Each look paired with a matching designer handbag.

Casual Chic London Takeover
The London Casual Chic evening took place the following week. New A/W styles were gracefully brought to life by our elegant models. Our enthusiastic clients couldn't wait to try the dresses on themselves! A charity raffle was held and prizes were generously donated by the neighbouring businesses of Steeles village. See more.

Country Living Fair
The first signs of festivity appeared this year at the Christmas Country Living Fair. Held at Glasgow’s SEC, our exhibition included luxurious velvet day dresses, faux fur collars and cuffs, silk scarves and more.
With a separate stand exhibiting Glasgow Fabric Store, many enjoyed the colourful cuts of tartan and exclusive designer fabrics we had to offer.
We also brought along our Ukrainian flag themed faux fur collars and cuffs. These are available to purchase online. All profits made on this product will be donated to Kvitka.org.uk, helping to rebuild Ukranian refugee lives.

Christmas!
The Christmas spirit followed us home from the Country Living Fair. The London store had its final window display change of the year, a beautiful winter wonderland. Our Glasgow showroom sparkled decked out with Christmas wreaths and winter flowers and of course the Christmas tree The twinkling decorations, created the perfect backdrop against our wedding dress display.

Designer Wedding Gown Sample Sale
In the spirit of Christmas giving, we thought all the blushing brides-to-be deserved a special treat and so, Santa visited our Glasgow showroom early this year. We held a designer wedding gown sample sale. With ex-display and unworn designer bridal gowns at £495 and under, discounts of up to 80% were offered and many happy brides found the dress of their dreams, at a fraction of the price!

Winter Wonderland Photoshoot
To celebrate the festive period, we held a winter bridal photoshoot in collaboration with Derek Dunlop Photography. As we bid farewell to 2022, we look forward to 2023 and all the excitement of meeting new brides and mothers and welcoming previous clients back again.
